Tranquil rural countryside awaits you as you traverse the whole width of Bali, to Singaraja and Lovina Beach on the north on the North Coast.
Leave the relatively flat rice fields behind and climb higher to see tiny rice plots of steep mountainside terraces. Stop at Pacung to enjoy the spectacular surrounding view of rice terraces. In the mountains, vegetation changes and you'll see cabbages, maize and potatoes. Higher still, still the countryside is alpine with mosses, creepers and ferns. Visit Candi Kuning fruit and flower market with its exotic wild orchids, roses and even strawberries.
Next stop is Bedugul – an attractive mountain resort located 850 m above sea level. Serene Lake Beratan fills the ancient crater of Mount Batukaru and the local people honor the goddess of the waters, Dewi Danu. The delightful small temple of Ulun Danu dedicated to this goddess , is built on a small promontory on the lake.
Continue north pass the Bali Handara Gof Club, which enjoys a spectacular surrounding view of lakes, well–kept gardens, wild flowers and wooded mountainsides. Stop for a walk through jungle to see GitGit Waterfall before going on to the town of Singaraja, on the north coast of Bali. Enroute along the coast of Lovina is fabulous black sand beach. A stop will be made for lunch at restaurant at Lovina Beach. After Lunch visiting Hot Spring Water at Banjar Village.
The return trip takes you along a different and little used road via Pupuan, through coffee plantations and spectacularly terraced rice fields.
